'Unreel' is taken from Petra’s collection ‘Home Taping is Killing Music’, which uses the analogy of a mixed cassette tape to evoke her own musical memories and take you through a personal sound journey. For 'Unreel' she considers the consequence of a favourite tape unreeling never to return to its original state. The tape unspools; the music is lost. Now unreal, the destroyed cassette tape informs a real work of jewellery.
