Blocks cushions I and II

Each of these handwoven and cushions features a different arrangement of blocks front and back which combine a graphic quality with a softness enhanced by both the wool itself and the plump cushion.  The designs are part of an ongoing series inspired by patched panels on agricultural buildings where the textures and colours shift in random blocks.  The cloth is woven from rare breed dark brown Wensleydale yarn from a farm in Devon and creamy Teeswater x Bluefaced Leicester from a farm in Cumbria, both were spun in independent UK mills. The cotton insert is filled with feathers, wool filled insert available on request.
