These Bronze Age inspired carved glass elements are influenced by the Cypriot trade routes of the ancient world, and the qualities of the Mediterranean Island that makes them unique. Exploring how insularity, as well as migration, affected and shaped art production and creativity along with economic, ritual, symbolic practices and ecological processes. Cyprus' large copper deposits enabled them to trade for tin to create Bronze objects, making stronger and more diverse workable materials.
This concept of the mixing of cultures and places to create something great, really inspired Theo. As a glass maker that has been travelling and learning in different parts of the world, the movement of people and exchanges of ideas still reflect these ancient melting pots in the modern world.
