Thames Matter is a collection of work created using materials gathered along the River Thames. Each piece reflects the river’s tones, textures, and tactile qualities. Added details are unique to each work, shaped by what Neve documented, learned, and discovered during her journeys mudlarking the Thames.

Thames Matter: Marked X 1.0 is a set of pots with a matt finish contrasted by iridescent X marks, glazed using a recipe developed from a wide range of materials gathered along the River Thames. The X is influenced by systems of marking and navigation found along the river - signals of crossing points, boundaries, and sites of human intervention. Acting as both a sign and a trace, the mark references the layered histories embedded in the Thames.
