This piece has been created using materials foraged on the Isle of Wight. Most of the materials were sourced from Alum Bay, a location renowned for its vibrant coloured sands, which are also used locally in glassblowing. The natural yet vivid tones and varied textures reflect the stunning beauty of the location from which the materials originated.

Wild clay connects artist and makers to their local environment, offering unique textures and qualities that reflect the landscape it comes from - in this case, the Isle of Wight, a place of significance to ceramicist Neve Beill, who spent much of her childhood there, playing in the same clay she frequently works with today.

Growing up between London and the Isle of Wight, her fascination with local clays informs a practice rooted in discovery, experimentation, and the transformation of found materials into tactile, expressive forms.
