Decipher is created from long ribbons of porcelain, each rolled by hand and worked meditatively into unique cluster like forms. Fired up to 1260 degrees Celsius, these are then fitted together and interwoven to create the artwork.

Sara Dodd works methodically until the entire surface is covered with no clear beginning or end. The piece is finished with a beautifully crafted frame of sleek, steam bent walnut with shaker style joins.

Sara Dodd is an award-winning ceramic artist living and working in London. In 2022 Sara received the Rosalind Stracey Ceramics Award from Cockpit and moved her studio to Deptford. The opportunity to discuss new projects is welcome and Sara enjoys working with designers and architects to fulfil a brief.
