Yanxiong Lin is an artist primarily working with Chinese Lacquer, Chinese Xuan Paper, and wood, reinterpreting traditional craftsmanship through innovative forms and contemporary sensibility. His practices explore how ancient materials can embody new meanings in the context of contemporary craft.

Yanxiong holds a BA in Product Design from the China Academy of Art and an MA in Design from Central Saint Martins, London, where he graduated with distinction. Yanxiong’s works have been exhibited internationally at Design Miami, PAD London, and Collect Art Fair, and are held in the permanent collections of the Shaanxi Opera House and Xi’an Concert Hall. In 2024, he was featured on the cover of House & Garden’s “Design 100” issue, recognizing him as one of the most influential individuals shaping the future of craft. Based in London, Yanxiong continues to redefine contemporary craft through a profound respect for heritage and a visionary approach to form, material, emotion, and cultural memory.
