Tim Martin is a London-based sculptor. He hand builds elegant and contrasting brutalist ceramics, using a combination of unglazed clay, rich slip glazes, and bright metallic oxides.

Tim’s architectural and graphic sculptures explore structural concepts such as balance and scale, weight and lightness, movement and stillness. He aims to distill simple, evocative themes — a landscape, the figure, plants and corals, the built environment — and sculpt forms that are barely recognisable but embodied with a powerful emotional presence.

Tim studied Diploma of Ceramics in London, and has a studio at Cockpit Bloomsbury. He has participated in residencies in Denmark and Hungary, and has shown in solo and group exhibitions in Europe and Australia, as well as within the UK. He is the author of several articles on ceramics, art residencies, and notable ceramic collections.
