Candice Lau is an award-winning master leatherworker and sculptor working in both leather and clay. She embraces the highly planned and measured approach with leather, yet all the while possessed by the unpredictability of the highly malleable and impressionable properties of clay.

Candice is challenged to interweave these two contrasting materials, weaving and pulling clay as if it was leather, and treating leather as if it was a material with fluid characteristics — ultimately, to create a new dialogue between the beautiful and the brutal.
