Randon Burns

Randon Burns studied wood carving, stone carving, metalsmithing, and jewellery design before settling on woodturning as his core practice. Drawing on this broad foundation, he brings a sculptor’s eye and a jeweller’s precision to the lathe, creating pieces that are both formally refined and emotionally resonant.

Originally from the United States and now based in London, Randon began woodturning in early 2023 and has progressed rapidly, earning the Worshipful Company of Woodturners’ bursary at Cockpit Studios for 2025. He currently teaches woodturning at Blackhorse Workshop, the place where he first encountered the craft. Randon’s work is guided by a sense of wonder and quiet adventure turning simple materials into objects that invite reflection on movement, memory, and connection.
