Lucy Martin lives and works in South London, where she grew up. She established her own workshop in 2002 at Cockpit Deptford after completing her jewellery training at Birmingham School of Jewellery and Central St. Martins.

The fundamentals of Lucy’s jewellery are colour, contrast and construction. Gemstones are carefully selected and often individually cut for her designs.  All pieces are handcrafted with great care from recycled and sustainable metals . The provenance of her materials is of great importance and the hunt to source the best is ongoing and enjoyable.

Lucy works in a distinctly un-digital way, using simple tools and traditional techniques whilst aiming to create very sleek forms, concealing connections and fixings wherever possible, keeping the focus on the gemstones and their unique natural qualities. The end result is of clean, elegant designs with vibrant and beguiling colours.
