Kim Sutherland is an artist metalworker and printmaker who creates illustrated wall pieces, lighting and objects that imbue spaces with depth and soul. Drawing inspiration from historical ornament and sacred artefacts, her singular work is a synthesis of tradition and personal narrative, often incorporating antique objects to infuse each piece with a rich patina of time.

Her practice spans the disciplines of metalwork, drawing and printmaking through an ongoing exploration of the ancient technique of intaglio etching — the ‘bite’ of line into metal — which allows her to create the symbolically ‘charged’ surfaces that sit at the heart of her work. Referencing ancient symbolism, sacred geometry and meditative motifs, these elegant collectors’ pieces contribute to the creation of environments that nourish the soul and elevate the spirit.

Kim makes metal art pieces for exhibition, installation and commission. Bespoke commissions for domestic, corporate and public spaces are welcomed.
