Eva Dennis is a textile weaver who joined Cockpit in 2020 after being awarded a place on the Make It! programme. She works on bespoke projects and commissions, transforming pre-loved sentimental materials into unique artworks. Her inspiration comes from the pre-loved fabrics that she finds in vintage and second hand shops. On the loom, she weaves fragments of these upcycled materials into abstract patterns and structures.

Eva's aim as a designer is to create one of a kind statement pieces that have as little impact on the environment as possible. Her use of pre-loved materials results in a unique product retaining memories and associations from the past. 

Eva's design process is led by the upcycling of textiles and yarns she finds by chance, giving her work an element of spontaneity and fun. She arranges the materials she has collected into different groups, working out combinations of colours and textures for an eye-catching design.
