Dave Evers

Dave Evers' work blends traditional and contemporary techniques, with a strong focus on hand skills and attention to detail. He favours unseasoned wood in its rawest state, allowing a deep connection between material and maker. As the wood dries, its natural shrinkage creates organic curves and fluid forms, shaping each piece through a careful, controlled process.

Dave's work continues to evolve through various finishing techniques, resulting in heirloom artefacts designed to last for generations.  Alongside his practice, he forges his own tools, which both inform and inspire his work.

Committed to preserving and passing on craftsmanship, he is a member of the Heritage Crafts Association and enjoys teaching individuals and small groups. Dave was the recipient of the 2024 Turners’ Award at Cockpit.
