Ama Adansi-Pipim is a designer-maker who explores the intricate relationship between belonging, heritage, and modernity in her work. She creates ceramic objects focused on cultural narratives, artefacts and the importance of home, drawing inspiration from her Ghanaian heritage, British upbringing, and surroundings.

Her collection includes functional tableware, collectible objects, and decorative mouldings. Each piece is either hand-carved or wheel-thrown and is finished with engobes and earthy-toned glazes. Ama’s designs and aesthetics symbolise the everyday journey home, blending traditional materials with storytelling to transform the concept of an artefact by integrating them into daily life.

Influenced by her experience as a designer, Ama’s design process is an integral part of every project. She enjoys bringing ideas to life.
